Some say the gift of salvation is free. But is a gift technically ever free? On the receiving end of salvation, yes, as we didn’t have to pay for our sins, but it always costs the giver something. Jesus’ crucifixion paid a hefty price on the cross of Calvary for our sins.

The perfect and sinless God-man, Jesus, invested in the total cost of our redemption.

They flogged, insulted, cursed, and crowned with thorns; Jesus became sin, was physically nailed to a wooden cross, took on the Father’s wrath, and was brutally murdered (dying a sinner’s death) all for our sake. So, I reiterate salvation is and was not free.

Thank God for His saving grace, as we didn’t work for our freedom. But let us never forget that a price was indeed paid. Even a cost is involved with being a disciple for Christ, but that will take up a post on its own.

Hence, after all, Jesus has done for us; we still have the right to reject His offer of salvation—the gift of eternal life. But, if we do choose to accept His offer through His gift of grace by faith, it’s important to remember that our righteousness isn’t because of anything we’ve done but because of His grace and perfect will. (Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.)

Ephesians 1:3-7 NKJV says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,  just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

According to scripture, it was always God’s will to adopt us in and by Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world. This redemption plan is proof that you are beloved and chosen. You are set apart and are now blameless before God in love. God forgives your sins through the blood and His overflowing grace. Forgiveness is something to shout about.

YOU’RE A CHILD OF “THE KING”

Jesus’ redemption made you a part of the royal family—the church—through His DNA. Therefore, since Jesus is the King of kings, you are not just a child of any ol’ king, but the King. Your bond is vital to remember as you don’t see royal kids running around with just any kind of crowd. Instead, you see them living up to their family’s name and upholding their reputation. (Ephesians 5:1 NKJV Therefore, be imitators of God as dear children.)

People look up to and are inspired by the royal family for many reasons. Royal children are schooled/educated; differently, they are raised/taught separately, and their exposure to greatness is higher.

Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV says, you are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Your new thoughts are of a different mindset, operate on a different value system, and are cut from a different cloth. You don’t think and behave like everyone else. When those that don’t know the Lord interact with you, they will taste salt and see the light. Your light always draws attention to the King. When people see members of our family, they automatically think of the leader—the King.

Royal Identity

Children from a royal bloodline have respect for their parents, others, and the community. They are not a fan of anyone disrespecting their bloodline, either. They protect, defend, and dispel rumors or anything against it. They are intelligent, wise, well-mannered, yet humble. Their fruit and actions make a clear statement as to what family they belong to.

They don’t jump in on trends; they set the standard. In our case, the Holy Scriptures already lay out our instructions and principles to live by. Royal kids don’t marry or court just anyone. Instead, they marry another member of royalty approved by the Father. They know and understand their worth, so they don’t settle for anything beneath it.

They are confident and secure because they believe in who their heavenly Father said they are and His teachings. They feel security only in Him and not in temporary outside things. When you can go somewhere and throw the King’s name around, respect is there because of your Father. Royal kids are privileged as it is an honor to be a child of the God who created the heavens, the earth, and all humanity. God is the Creator of all!

3 REASONS WHY YOUR IDENTITY MAY BE UNCERTAIN

Sadly, too many of us walk around, unsure of our identity. We are trying to fit in with the world, although scripture says don’t love the world or the things of it. Your soul must go through a mindset shift and escape emotional strongholds (Romans 12:1-2).

  • ONE: We are confused about our identity because we don’t spend enough time in the presence of the God who created us. We must sincerely humble ourselves and incorporate prayer, worship, and praise, reading His Word, meditating on His Word, and studying it into our routine. You spend time with God to seek His face and His will, not to only add more knowledge to our knowledge bank. Strive to know Him intimately.
  • TWO: We equate attending church with being spiritual. Therefore, we allow the preacher to teach us all we know. There’s nothing wrong with attending church, but many attend and do nothing further until next Sunday. Corporate worship is excellent, but many people spend years attending church but never see real transformation. In your private time with God is where intimacy takes place. In privacy, the Holy Spirit overflows into your soul to destroy strongholds.

PIN THIS IMAGE ABOUT YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST:

It's important to know your identity. Without it you will live life lost without a sense of purpose. Find out who God made you to be. #identity #identityinchrist #selfvalue #selflove

  • THREE: Too many of us mix worldly wisdom and philosophies with God’s infallible Word, and if they don’t align with God’s truth and principles, they won’t work. You will never know your identity when you incorporate yoga, new age, horoscopes, self-help gurus, transcendental meditation, and unaligned worldly solutions into the equation. Confusion arises because you’re intertwining the clean with the unclean. Get stuck from the ball of confusion. God does not operate in chaos or double-mindedness. What doesn’t align with His principles are NOT of God; they open you up to demonic influence. Unfortunately, many false mega-pastors are teaching these things too. They mix new age with the Bible so you can’t catch them. This is why you must spend time with God alone so that the Holy Spirit can guide you into all truth.

Repent of these things and get in God’s presence today! In His presence, you’ll discover your identity, my friend. In repentance, at true turning of the heart, mind, and will is where the real and lasting transformation takes place.

YOU ARE VICTORIOUS

Soulful, our God defeated DEATH and the grave (read the last few chapters of the Gospels for this truth). The gospel illuminates Jesus proving He’s God. He is the only true and Living God. No other fake counterfeit god can or has defeated death or risen with all power in their hands, yet we are still in invisible handcuffs. Don’t stay stuck in situations that Christ already freed us from. Don’t let a the wrong career, job, relationship, group, or organization keep you stuck because they have nothing to do with your purpose.

If you’re a child of God, the perfect Spirit of the Living God is in you right now. So why are you choosing to live below and beneath your purpose? Seek God and discover all there’s to know about your identity as it’s linked with discovering your purpose.

Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV says, In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,  who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

When God’s grace freed you through His salvation, the Holy Spirit immediately took up residence to give you a spiritual new birth and sealed you. Since salvation perfects and makes alive your (once dead) spirit man, you are alive in Christ. Your inheritance is promised all to the praise of His glory. The same resurrection power is now in us. And since you have His power in your temple, you’re victorious through Christ Jesus’ victory.

Soul Actions:

Repent of all things you’ve allowed to get in the way of you seeking God.

Renew your mind and change your thoughts.

Tune your heart and ears to what God has to say about you, reject what Satan is trying to feed you.
